Refunds and cancellation
Paid plans are sold by Paddle, our merchant of record, so refunds are paid by Paddle to the card or account you paid with. The free plan involves no payment.
Cancelling
You can cancel a paid plan at any time from your account page (“Manage subscription” opens Paddle's billing portal). You won't be charged again, and you keep paid features until the end of the period you've already paid for. After that your account moves to the free plan; nothing is deleted. Deleting your account cancels a paid plan immediately instead.
Changing your mind within 14 days
If you're a consumer in the UK or EU, you normally have 14 days from buying a paid plan to cancel it for any reason. A paid plan starts straight away, so at checkout Paddle asks you to agree to that and to acknowledge that you lose this right once you start using the plan within the 14 days. If you cancel within the 14 days without having used the plan, you get a full refund. To do that, cancel from your account page and tell us (choose “Billing or refund”), or email support@tapeparrot.com.
Renewal payments don't come with a new 14-day right, except where Paddle's refund policy gives one (for example, the renewal of a UK annual subscription).
Other refunds
Otherwise we don't refund part-used billing periods — cancelling stops the next renewal instead. Paddle can still refund at its discretion if you ask within 14 days of a payment, and:
- If we significantly reduce what your plan includes, or close your account without you having broken our terms, we refund the unused part of your billing period.
- If the service isn't as described or wasn't provided with reasonable care and skill, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which this policy doesn't reduce. Contact us and we'll put it right.
How refunds are paid
Refunds are decided and paid by Paddle, to your original payment method, normally within 14 days of the refund being agreed. You can also contact Paddle directly about any payment through the link in your receipt.
