Disclaimer
Tape Parrot is a news and data service. Nothing on it is investment advice, a personal recommendation, or an offer or invitation to buy or sell any investment. Decide for yourself, and get independent professional advice if you need it.
Information only — not investment advice
- Everything on Tape Parrot — headlines, the economic calendar, alerts, voice squawk, tags, and AI-generated summaries — is general information. None of it takes your circumstances, objectives or attitude to risk into account, and none of it is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything.
- Tape Parrot is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. It is not a financial adviser, broker or dealer, and it doesn't arrange or execute trades or hold anyone's money or investments.
- Trading and investing carry risk. Prices move against you, and leveraged products (CFDs, spread bets, futures, options, margin FX) can lose you more than you put in. Any decision you make is yours alone.
Accuracy and timeliness
- Headlines come from third-party publishers (listed on Sources). We don't check them before they appear. They can be wrong, incomplete, later corrected, or withdrawn by the publisher.
- “Real-time” means we pass items on as fast as we receive them — never faster than the source publishes. Delivery can be delayed or interrupted by the source, the network, or our own systems. On the free plan the news tape is deliberately delayed by 60 seconds.
- Priority levels, categories, instruments and other tags are assigned automatically and can be wrong. A headline marked “flash” is not necessarily market-moving, and one marked routine may be.
The economic calendar is simulated for now
Tape Parrot hasn't yet licensed a live economic-calendar data provider. Until it does, the economic calendar — its entries, and their forecast and “actual” values — is simulated demonstration data, not real economic statistics. The calendar panel is labelled “Simulated” while that's the case. Don't trade on it.
Simulated calendar values never become headlines on the tape, alerts, notifications or voice squawk: every headline on the tape comes from a real publisher listed on Sources. (A headline from a source labelled “Synthetic demo feed (simulated)” is invented demonstration data used only in test and demo environments — it should never appear on tapeparrot.com.) This section will change when a real calendar provider is live.
AI-generated content
- “Why it matters” explanations, catch-up summaries and daily briefings are written by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) from headline text. They're labelled as AI-generated wherever they appear.
- AI output isn't reviewed by a person before you see it. It can be wrong, out of date, or misleading, and it can state things confidently that aren't true. Check anything that matters against the original source.
- None of it is meant to recommend buying, selling or holding anything. If you ever see output that does, it's an error — ignore it and tell us.
Alerts and notifications
Alert rules, sounds, push notifications, emails, webhooks and voice squawk depend on your device, browser, network and third-party delivery services. They can arrive late, twice, or not at all. Don't rely on them as your only way of monitoring a position or a market.
Third-party sources and links
Headlines belong to their publishers and link to the publisher's own site. We're not responsible for third-party content or websites, and showing a source isn't an endorsement of it.
Liability
Our responsibility to you is set out in the Terms of Service, including what we can't exclude by law. In short: we provide information, not advice, and — as far as the law allows — we're not responsible for trading or investment losses resulting from how you use it.
